The latest exhibit to come to the Milwaukee Public Museum will feature the Dead Sea Scrolls and their contribution to Biblical scholarship as well as featuring John Trever a biblical scholar with Milwaukee roots. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has a nice article about Trever. The exhibit, titled: “Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible: Ancient Artifacts, Timeless Treasures” starts on January 22 and runs through June 6. You can watch a brief video on the exhibit over at the museum’s website.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in biblical languages, biblical studies, ancient near eastern studies, and archeology to learn more about the discovery and impact of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Maybe even a nice class trip, eh?
